Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., has unveiled at Mobile World Congress the PC industry’s first commercial 5G PC Platform, the Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 8cx 5G compute platform.

Featuring the groundbreaking second-generation Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ X55 5G modem, the Snapdragon 8cx 5G platform will help PC manufactures take advantage of the global rollout of 5G networks.

With the power and performance of a premium thin and light PC, the Snapdragon 8cx 5G will modernize how people connect, compute and communicate with their PCs.

This new PC platform will impact consumers, small businesses, the enterprise and those on-the-go, by enabling multi-gigabit connectivity, multi-day battery life and performance computing in a modern device.

First Mobile Platform with Integrated 5G

Qualcomm Technologies has also announced the Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ Mobile Platform with 5G integrated into a System-on-Chip (SoC).

The Company builds on its 5G leadership with the Snapdragon X50 and X55 5G modems and RF front-end (RFFE) solutions by offering a newly integrated Snapdragon 5G mobile platform, which reinforces the Company’s role in providing the global mobile ecosystem with the flexibility and scalability needed for broad and fast 5G adoption.

OEMs will be able to utilize the investments made on the Snapdragon X50 and X55 modems to enable accelerated commercialization on the new integrated 5G platform.
