Wadaro Becomes Simphonic, Bags Investment to Drive Deployment

Simphonic (formerly Wadaro), the pioneer of SIM-based edge intelligence for mobile network operators, has published independent research by Chetan Sharma Consulting confirming that device-side Quality of Experience (QoE) data — anonymized KPIs gathered passively from a software applet on the device SIM — represents the most consequential and underutilized source of network intelligence available to operators today.

The white paper, “SIM – Mobile Operator’s Intelligence Nerve Center,” analyzes 4,679 real-world device events collected over 30 days. Its central finding is striking: 40.5% of all device-reported events represented negative experiences — dropped networks, voice call failures, modem restarts, and cell handoff disruptions — that are largely invisible to traditional network-side KPIs, yet directly drive customer churn. Of these negative events, 59.4% occurred at or near the subscriber’s primary stationary locations, such as home or work — the precise environments where customers form lasting judgments about their carrier.

The research proposes a Customer Experience Index (CEI), a normalized, subscriber-level scoring model that aggregates event severity, temporal clustering, geographic dwell weighting, recovery effort, and network stability into a single, operationally actionable risk score. Operators deploying this framework can automate churn intervention workflows, optimize capital expenditure with granular insight, and replace costly drive-test programs with a continuous, anonymous aggregated signals from their own subscriber base.

“The SIM is the vantage point where network behavior and human perception intersect,” said Chetan Sharma, CEO of Chetan Sharma Consulting. “Our analysis makes clear that customers don’t churn from networks — they churn from experiences. Operators who deploy device-side QoE intelligence will have a measurable, defensible advantage in churn prevention, capital efficiency, and customer trust.

Strategic Investment

To accelerate the deployment of this technology at scale, Simphonic also announced a strategic equity investment from NAL Technologies (Naltec), a TJC portfolio company and leader in advanced satellite communications and critical navigation and timing solutions for government, defense, and enterprise markets. Simultaneously, the company unveiled its new corporate identity — Simphonic — reflecting its expanded mission to apply AI across billions of SIM-reported network KPIs to orchestrate and deliver a new category of network optimization, insight, and control.

“After an extensive review of SIM software providers, Wadaro stood alone in terms of mature, scalable, and tier-1 operator-deployed technology,” said Robert Bills, President of NAL Technologies. “This investment aligns directly with Naltec’s mandate to deliver enhanced, reliable connectivity to high-value assets anywhere on the planet, and we look forward to supporting Simphonic’s continued leadership in the SIM market.”

Chris Drake, CEO of Simphonic, added: “The Chetan Sharma Consulting research validates what our platform has been proving in production networks worldwide — that the SIM is the nerve center of the subscriber experience, and that acting on its intelligence is the defining operational challenge of this era. The investment from Naltec and our rebrand as Simphonic mark the beginning of a new chapter. We are now positioned to accelerate our deployment of this capability to operators globally, at the scale the market demands.”

Simphonic’s EdgeQoE platform is a lightweight Javacard applet that operates passively on the subscriber’s SIM or eSIM across all device types and generations, from 2G feature phones to the latest 5G smartphones, without impacting battery life, performance, or the user interface. The platform currently reports billions of network KPI data points for Tier-1 wireless carriers worldwide.
