Toshio Kanki, president of MBSD, said: “Most Japanese organizations continue to be increasingly concerned with the growing threat of cyberattacks, especially those undertaking global digital transformation (DX) initiatives.
As businesses continue to expand globally, the potential for confidential and critical data falling into the wrong hands has never been greater. This partnership will enable both companies to use their strengths to deliver create cutting edge solutions and services and I look forward to providing our customers with best-in-class global security services.”
Verizon’s regional vice president in Asia-Pacific, Robert Le Busque said: “Japan is one of the fastest growing markets for managed security services in Asia. With the cyber threat landscape continuing to evolve, executives are increasingly keen to ensure that they are investing their resources in the areas that will be most beneficial to their business – and will best protect them against data breaches. Collaborations such as this enable the sharing of intelligence, best practices and know-how and eventually help not only the organizations concerned – but business in general as well.”
Both companies have seen a significant surge in the demand for security services in recent months as the country prepares for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and Paralympic Games in July and August respectively. This has been heightened by a global rise in the number of C-level executives proactively targeted by social breaches with financial motivation, according to the Verizon 2019 Data Breach Investigations Report.
Verizon delivers global managed security solutions, combining intelligence and analytics, including advanced security operations and managed threat protection services, threat intel and response service and forensics investigations and identity management.
