Spark, Mushroom Group partner to drive live music experiences

Spark has entered a new long-term partnership with Mushroom Group, one of Australasia’s leading independent music and entertainment companies, giving Spark customers access to even more exclusive live music experiences, presale ticket opportunities, and unforgettable fan moments.

The partnership reflects Spark’s continued focus on delivering better customer experiences, unlocking greater access to more of the world’s biggest live music events for Spark customers, so they can get closer to the music.

Mushroom Group will leverage its global network of artists, promoters and venues to deliver money-can’t-buy experiences for Spark customers including meet and greets, VIP hospitality, Spark Front Row experiences, and backstage access at live music events such as Boyz II Men at Spark Arena.

Spark customers will also receive exclusive presale access to some of New Zealand’s most in-demand concerts. Recent opportunities have included priority access to tickets for the Foo Fighters’ upcoming New Zealand tour before they went on general sale.

Building on Spark’s long-standing investment in entertainment – which includes more than a decade of partnership with Spotify, customer offers across Netflix and Neon, and experiences through Spark Arena – the partnership further strengthens Spark’s entertainment ecosystem, giving customers even more ways to enjoy their favourite music.

Spark Chief Marketing and Corporate Affairs Officer, Leela Ashford, says the long-term partnership reflects Spark’s focus on creating better customer experiences through the things customers value most, including entertainment.

“We know our customers value money-can’t-buy opportunities to get closer to the artists and live events they love, and creating those kinds of moments is one of the ways we deliver better customer experiences.

“We’ve built a fantastic relationship with Mushroom Group over many years, so a long-term partnership was a natural next step. Together with our partnerships with Spark Arena, Eden Park, Spotify, Netflix, and Neon, it will help us create even more opportunities for our customers to enjoy the music, artists and live events they’re passionate about. Whether it’s getting access to presale tickets for a sold-out show, meeting an artist or enjoying a VIP experience, these are the kinds of exclusive moments that help set Spark apart and reward our customers.”

Mushroom Creative House Client Partnerships Executive Director, Heath James, says the expanded partnership builds on a successful history of collaboration between the two organisations.

“We’ve worked with Spark for many years on some great live music initiatives, so it’s fantastic to continue building on that relationship through this expanded long-term partnership.

“Mushroom Creative House has collaborated with some of the world’s biggest artists and brands, and we continue to set the standard in this space. Central to that is co-creating bespoke Music Strategies with our clients to ensure their brands connect with music and culture in ways that are authentic to their brand platforms, and relevant to the cultural moments, scenes and movements they’re playing in.

“We’re looking forward to delivering more standout work with Spark and bringing this partnership to life.”

Spark and Mushroom have collaborated on a number of successful campaigns over the years, including Fridayz Live and Peak Sounds. Now in its third year, Peak Sounds gives Spark and Samsung customers the chance to win an action-packed Queenstown weekend featuring adrenaline experiences alongside an exclusive club performance by Peking Duk and other world-class artists.
