With an aim to create a clear differentiation in terms of providing new and innovative services for the end customers, Airpix came into existence in October, 2012. Four professionals Aniket Tatipamula, Neeraj Wagchaure, Rajesh Mane and Shinil Shekhar came together to create Airpix which has its base in Mumbai. Today the company is providing innovative surveillance as a service with the help of drones.
At present the company is focusing towards aerial surveillance and inspection which can be used for a set of applications in disaster management, city planning, industrial surveillance, managing huge crowd and close monitoring of infrastructure such as towers or turbines etc.
'We fly remote controlled aircraft known as a Drone or Multicopter which are light weight and battery powered for aerial photography and video applications. Airpix has a lot of expertise operating in urban and suburban environments. Our drones can cater to various applications in a wide variety of aerial applications. From real estate to travel and tourism, from photography to surveillance, from journalism and sports media to infrastructure and plant video shooting ' there are many applications which are coming up in this segment. We are not restricting ourselves to any city and will continue to bring in technology to find new means for surveillance and security in the country,' explains, Shinil Shekhar from Airpix.
Challenges in Surveillance
'There is no readymade solution to what we provide. We also have to develop our own drones as per our requirement. For surveillance every new place provides a new challenge in terms of understanding the requirement, understanding the conditions around and knowing, which are all the key points that should be monitored more. So there is always a person on our client's side, who stays with us and imparts information to us before and during the event,' he adds on.
AIRPIX had provided the services during the Ambedkar death anniversary held at Chaityabhoomi in December, 2013 and also during the Mumbai Marathon. The Team will be working with the Mumbai Police to explore means to improve upon the already good management and security of the event for next year.
Industrial Solutions
Using advanced tools like GPS navigation, live camera feed, real-time flight data analytics Airpix is in a position to obtain high resolution aerial data which can be used for surveillance related industrial solutions in terms of planning and study of operations and creating better fault management as well.
