Lenovo has sold 1 million units of its 4G smartphones Lenovo A6000, A6000plus and A7000 till June 2015. As per CMR's India quarterly data, 4G-LTE device shipments had grown 108 percent to 2.2 million units for the Jan-March quarter.
This success can be attributed to the fact that Lenovo’s 4G devices fit well with the market’s requirements and provided a future-proof proposition to consumers. Even for consumers not on 4G networks combination of aesthetics, performance and usability along with unique aspects like Dolby Atmos made the product offerings very attractive.
Sudhin Mathur, Director – Lenovo smartphones said, “As a technology first company, Lenovo continues to push the market threshold for newer devices. Apart from providing great devices, our partnership with Flipkart gave consumers in more than 1000 cities/towns across the countries access to our 4G smartphone portfolio. Beyond the metros, we’ve seen also seen a good uptake in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Kerala, West Bengal and Andhra Pradesh”.
Amitesh Kumar Jha, VP - Retail, Flipkart said, “A great portfolio of 4G devices enabled by the Flipkart-Lenovo partnership should lead to a faster adoption of 4G in India. Flipkart currently leads the 4G adoption with about 60% share of LTE devices sold in the country led by Lenovo’s devices. We are looking forward to take this further in the coming months."
