Conducted from December 11 to 18, 2021, the program consists of five batches of training and workshops attended by more than 1,000 participants from Solo and its surroundings. The program engages several well-known content creators to fill the workshops, including Samsul Arifin, founder of Media Latitude, a YouTube channel with more than 3 million subscribers, and Bagoes Kresnawan, known as @bagustikus, a recognized filmmaker and content creator.

Steve Saerang, SVP-Head of Corporate Communications of Indosat Ooredoo, said, “We are proud to support the empowerment of youth and digital talent in Solo as they are the backbone of economic recovery in the city. During this challenging time, increased demand for digital skills becomes inevitable as the world moves fast towards a digital future. The Local Content Creator Solo 2021 program serves as a platform to address the digital skills gap in the city by grooming the next pool of digital talent and content creators. Furthermore, we hope this program can strengthen our commitment to supporting Solo’s economic recovery and making Indonesia a digital powerhouse in Southeast Asia.”

Aryo Widyandoko, Acting Head of Tourism Office of Surakarta City Government, said, “We appreciate Indosat Ooredoo’s firm commitment to supporting the economic recovery in Solo from various aspects, starting from 5G technology, Kampung Digital infrastructures, and now with the Local Content Creator program. Of course, the commitment and extensive collaboration with the Surakarta City Government will not stop here. Through this program, we hope young people can take this opportunity to scale up their digital skills and embrace every chance to be an inspiring content creator that makes the city proud.”

During the workshops, participants can get valuable insights from a fundamental and technical point of view, such as tips to generate ideas for stories, create impactful content, and make it viral. Then, the program will challenge participants to submit short creative content as a requirement to get a graduation certificate. Participants can create creative content around Solo City’s tourism, culture, culinary, museums, and MSME business.

There will be a special challenge at the end of the workshop only for Local Content Creator Solo participants. The challenge will be rewarded with cash and other benefits, including IM3 Ooredoo data packages with the opportunity to expose the winner content through the ‘Kampung Digital’ system.

The Local Content Creator Solo 2021 program is open for free for residents of Solo City and its surrounding who aspired to become content creators on social media, communities engaged in the creative industry, and those who own micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) business.

The first batch of the workshop is held in a hybrid format right after the launch ceremony on December 11 at Surakarta City Hall, while the other sessions will be held online on December 12 and 18.
