Indosat Ooredoo Unveils IMSecure Powered by Mastercard

Indosat Ooredoo, Indonesia’s leading digital telco company, continues to show its commitment to provide complete and secure digital solutions for customers through the latest feature, IMSecure, which is also supported by Mastercard as the company's strategic partner.

IMSecure provides additional security check services of various Indosat Ooredoo customers' personal data to increase the protection of customers’ personal data security amid the massive increase in internet network usage.

Based on the United Nations (UN) data, cybercrime activity, including data hacking, has increased by 600% since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. An online survey conducted by Google and YouGov in September 2021 in several Asia Pacific countries also showed that almost two out of three internet users in Indonesia had experienced a personal data breach.

Responding to this condition, Indosat Ooredoo took the initiative to launch IMSecure, to allow customers to track and verify if any of their personal data, such as telephone number, email, ID card number, mother's maiden name, and other important data, have been taken and used by other parties on the internet.

Offering easy access, Indosat Ooredoo customers can activate the IMSecure service by accessing the registration link, completing personal data, including active mobile phone number and email, then customers can immediately enjoy the Identity Protection service from IMSecure powered by Mastercard.

IMSecure service can monitor customer's personal data usage in several categories, namely: (1) Essentials, including the usage of email addresses, ID card number, telephone numbers, and home address data; (2) Financial Well-Being, including the access and usage of bank account, credit, debit, or prepaid cards, as well as loyalty cards such as frequent flyer card; (3) Identity, Cards & Documents, including the usage of social media access, Driver's License (SIM), mother's maiden name, and passport; until (4) Insurance Documents, including the usage of medical and vehicle insurance cards.
