Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has unveiled its Redmi 2 smartphone with Dual 4G SIM (both SIM can support 4G) for INR 6,999 in India.
The smartphones comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 64-bit microprocessor and 4.7” IPS HD display with 8MP camera f/2.2.
In continuation of the company’s ongoing online distribution relationship with Flipkart.com, Redmi 2 will be made available at the e-commerce site. Xiaomi products are also available at Airtel stores.
"We are very excited to launch this product in India. We have to put in a lot of effort to make sure that Redmi 2 delivers unique quality and experience for our users," explained, Hugo Barra, VP, Xiaomi.
Size and grip — 4.7 inches at 133g
The company has kept the same 4.7” display but designed Redmi 2 to be 15g lighter and thinner when compared to its predecessor. It also features rounded corners and a soft touch back that feels perfect in the hand of a user.
Quad-core 64-bit Snapdragon 410 processor
According to Xiaomi, the Cortex A53 CPU and Adreno 306 GPU on Redmi 2 offer 30% faster browsing speeds and an overall 50% higher CPU performance compared to Redmi 1S, making it even more perfectly suited for gaming.
Dual 4G SIM
Redmi 2 supports 4G (and 3G) on both SIM card slots, making it an extremely versatile phone, compared to most other dual-SIM phones in the market where the second SIM slot only supports 2G.
Fully laminated HD display from Sharp/AUO
Pixels on Redmi 2’s laminated display sit much closer to the surface compared to other devices in this category. It’s noticeable and makes a difference. Add IPS technology for stunning color consistency from any angle (178° viewing angle).
