Xiaomi India launches Redmi Note 9 for INR 11999

Xiaomi has unveiled the latest Redmi Note as a part of their best-selling smartphone series. Redmi Note 9 brings the high performance MediaTek Helio G85 for the first time in India.

Performance

While Redmi Note 8 brought balanced, all-round performance, Redmi Note 9 aims to cater to the growing need of high-performance smartphones in the segment. The performance and gaming focussed octa-core MediaTek Helio G85 features two Cortex-A75 cores clocked up to 2.0GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores clocked up to 1.8GHz. As compared to Redmi Note 8, Redmi Note 9 brings a 21% increase in performance. With a 25% bump up in gaming performance the Mali-G52 clocked up to 1000MHz allows a powerful gaming experience on Redmi Note 9 which can be thoroughly enjoyed on the Full HD+ display. The 5020mAh battery allows up to 2 days of usage without breaking a sweat. The 22.5W fast charger (available in-box) charges the Redmi Note 9 in no time. The type-C charging port supports 9W reverse charging.

Aura Balance Design

Redmi Note 9 features Aura Balance Design, introduced first with the Redmi Note 9 Pro series. The 16.5cm (6.53) DotDisplay offers maximum screen real estate coupled with Full HD+ (2340×1080) resolution which offers an immersive experience. The 3D curved rear allows for a better hand feel and houses the 48MP quad camera array with the fingerprint scanner right beneath it. To ensure trusted entertainment and utility, Redmi Note 9 features a 3.5mm headphone jack at the bottom of the frame, and an infrared sensor on top.

Camera

Redmi Note 9 features a quad camera array consisting of 48MP Samsung ISOCELL Bright GM1, 8MP ultrawide, 2MP macro and 2MP depth sensors. Software optimisations across photography and video enable a slew of camera modes like LOG video capture, RAW photography, pro video, and a 21:9 movie frame. For enhanced productivity and fun, features such as pro-colour, document scanner and kaleidoscope also make their way to Redmi Note 9. A 13MP AI selfie sensor takes up the front camera.

Quality

Like all Redmi products, Redmi Note 9 also upholds the highest levels of quality. With continued efforts to our Make in India project, we have paid special attention towards the quality standards of all our Redmi products. Redmi Note 9 features Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on the front, P2i water resistant coating, 4µm pyrolytic sheet, as well as reinforced corners to protect against accidental drops and splashes.

Redmi Note 9 will be available in three colour variants, Pebble Grey, Arctic White, and Aqua Green in 4GB + 64GB, 4GB + 128GB and 6GB + 128GB storage variants for INR 11,999, INR 13,499 and INR 14,999 respectively across mi.com, Amazon India, Mi Homes and Mi Studios starting 24th July 2020.
