World-leading diamond corp. uses RADWIN for high-definition video surveillance

RADWIN (www.radwin.com), the global wireless broadband provider, has announced that one of the world’s leading diamond mining companies with operations in Botswana, Namibia, South Africa and Canada chose RADWIN’s wireless broadband systems to enhance operational safety and perimeter security in its Namibian mine site.

RADWIN’s partner, IMPLEO Communication Technologies, was responsible for project design and installation.

IMPLEO outfitted mobile trailers with high-definition video cameras (CCTV) and RADWIN’s JET Point-to-Multipoint, PtP as well as RADWIN 5000 PtMP nomadic solutions. CCTV trailers move on a weekly basis to different mining sites and live video is transmitted from the sites to the diamond corporation’s control room via RADWIN’s wireless broadband equipment. The real-time video transmission allows security staff to monitor and respond to security breaches and potential violations on the spot, thus enhancing employee safety and securing mine perimeters.
