The University of Rome UnitelmaSapienza and TIM have signed a memorandum of understanding to create the ‘Communication and Digital Media Academy’, the new inter-company hub that will offer courses and master’s degrees to those working or wanting to work in digital communication (social media, web etc.).
The Academy’s purposes is therefore to explore topics linked to the development of communication and digital education.
The agreement was signed by the Dean Antonello Folco Biagini and Luciano Sale, Head of Human Resources, Organization & Real Estate at TIM.
“I thank TIM for the opportunity it is giving our university to develop new projects in synergy in the communication field, a pivotal sector in our contemporary society,” stated Mr Biagini, who hoped that “future collaborations would be possible through post-graduate schools.”
“Thanks to TIM Academy we are intensifying the development of projects that concern TIM and Universities. We see it as a strategic move to bring the academic world closer to the corporate one, with particular regard to digitisation in which we are investing a great deal, also through the Operazione Risorgimento Digitale project which involves and brings together over forty partners in pursuit of the same objective. We are convinced that the spread of these skills will also speed up the process of digitising the country,” remarked Luciano Sale.
Donato Squara, Director General of UnitelmaSapienza, Mario Morcellini, Director of the Alta Scuola di Comunicazione e Media Digitali of UnitelmaSapienza and Carlo Nardello, Chief Strategy, Business Development and Transformation Officer at TIM, also took part in the signing and emphasised the importance of digital transformation, the responsibility of media education and the digital culture in schools.
