Tilson, a national network deployment and IT professional services firm, was selected to provide engineering and wireless network services to the 2018 Beach to Beacon Race, specifically for the timing, medical, and public relations tents.
In partnership with Cambium Networks, a leading global provider of wireless networking solutions, Tilson successfully designed and delivered critical communications support to provide maximum network coverage to the park’s finish line, a landmark area with little infrastructure present to provide commercial broadband.
“Tilson is proud to be a supporter of the TD Charitable Foundation and Beach to Beacon race” Tilson CEO Joshua Broder says. “We’re continuing to work to provide network services for special events such as this, as well as build a more permanent and reliable infrastructure that will support year-round communications, enhance public safety, and increase coverage for the general public.”
“Cambium Networks is glad to participate in the Beach to Beacon Race. Connectivity is essential to any event. Spectators expect to have the ability to share their experiences,” said Derek Underwood, Vice President of Sales for Cambium Networks. “Our ePMP™ wireless connectivity solutions can be rapidly deployed to any location or event to provide reliable access to share information.”
Founded in 1998, the Beach to Beacon race attracts top New England and athletes from around the world, featuring roughly 6,500 runners and thousands of spectators. Through the TD Charitable Foundation, Beach to Beacon supports different local charities each year. This year’s beneficiary is WinterKids, a local nonprofit providing Maine and New Hampshire children, families, and communities with outdoor education programs and events each year.
