Keeping its focus toward enabling humanitarian efforts – Telia Company is driving connectivity across the European region affected by the ongoing crisis in Ukraine.

As per the company’s statement, “Keeping people and societies connected is at the core of what we do, and our services have never been more important than during time of crises. Since the onset of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, which we condemn in the strongest terms, we have taken – and will continue to take – measures to support those affected.

We are deeply concerned about the human suffering in this conflict and are focused on enabling our products and services to provide relief wherever possible.”

Enabling connections to Ukraine and information on the conflict for Telia customers such as free calls and SMS to/from Ukraine; free data roaming for customers who are currently in Ukraine; free access to international news channels to Telia customers

Support for Ukrainian refugees and related efforts in our markets such as distribution of free pre-paid SIM cards for arriving refugees, practical support to refugee support organizations when it comes to their device needs; administering donation phone lines free of charge for local NGOs supporting humanitarian relief

Supporting Ukrainian business: waiving of fees and reducing prices on telecommunications services for relocating Ukrainian businesses; advisory support on such relocation; administering a support line free of charge for relocating businesses

Supporting humanitarian relief efforts in Ukraine: direct donation to relief efforts in Ukraine; encouraging employees to donate to humanitarian relief operations and volunteer with local organizations in support of their activities.

Where relevant, in implementing these actions we are working with established NGOs, partners and authorities, ensuring that our support is delivered where, and to whom, it is needed most.

Naturally we are also monitoring sanctions closely, ensuring compliance with anything related to our business.
