Optus Wholesale has announced a 3-year agreement with Sumo for a range of telco products which will allow Sumo to offer nbnTM and broadband services to eligible households and small businesses.
An Australian-based gas and electricity retailer, Sumo will introduce a 'whole of house' offering which bundles internet, telephone, gas and electricity for the home owners or small business operators.
John Castro, Acting Managing Director for Optus Wholesale & Satellite, said 'Sumo's product offerings are well-placed for a customer segment who want simplicity and want to save on their household expenses. Our partnership strengthens Sumo's position in the competitive utility market by adding telco services to their mix ' delivering even more to their value-seeking customers.'
Under the arrangement, Optus Wholesale will provide Sumo with residential broadband services over NBN, mobile broadband and home wireless broadband (HWBB).
Sumo helps residential customers connect electricity and gas when moving into a new property. With Optus' range of broadband products, they can now choose to a connection that's right for them. For example, a convenient 'plug and play' broadband internet service allows customers to browse the internet in a matter of minutes without the need of a fixed connection or technician.
Paul Cullinan, Sumo's CEO, explains that the more Sumo services a customer connects, the more they save.
'Our agreement with Optus means Sumo customers now have flexible and affordable Sumo branded internet options loaded with data. Even better, Sumo's internet packages are delivered to customers with month to month plans and no set up fees. It couldn't be simpler.'
Sumo and Optus Wholesale anticipate post-paid mobile plans will soon be added to the offerings.
