StarHub has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the three leading internet service providers (ISPs) in China – China Mobile, China Unicom and China Telecom, to enhance data connectivity between Singapore and Chongqing as well as explore other business opportunities.

Supported by the governments of Singapore and China, this is one of the 13 memoranda of understanding signed between technology companies from both countries, at the Smart China Expo 2019 event, to drive business collaborations in fintech, urban solutions, artificial intelligence, data analytics, transport, logistics and data connectivity.

Specifically, StarHub will work with the three internet service providers (ISPs) in China, to strengthen digital connectivity between Singapore and Chongqing and cater for increasing China-Singapore trade.

With this collaboration, Singapore companies with operations in Chongqing can expect to enjoy more robust connectivity between two cities. These companies will also be able to work with their preferred ISP provider in China for enhanced Infocomm services with competitive offerings.

StarHub has invested in five submarine cable systems to support its corporate customers‘ international connectivity needs and to provide the best international internet experience for consumers.

They are Asia-Pacific Cable Network 2, Asia Submarine-cable Express, Asia-Pacific Gateway, Asia-America Gateway and Japan-US Network. StarHub is able to provide dedicated, secure, point-to-point connection to 200 cities data connectivity. These investments are important foundations which support this collaboration.
