
Singapore based telecom operator – M1 Limited has rolled out Brazil Data Passport to enable athletes, officials and supporters visiting the country for the world’s biggest sporting events – the 2016 Summer Olympics and 2016 Summer Paralympics – to stay connected.
Brazil Data Passport will be available through to September, at a promotional rate of S$10 a month.
“With Brazil Data Passport, our athletes, officials and supporters can share the excitement and memories of the games with their loved ones and fans at home,” said P. Subramaniam, Chief Marketing Officer, M1.
M1’s unique Data Passport service, which enables its customers to use their local data bundle overseas, was launched in July 2015 and is now available in 46 destinations including Australia, Malaysia, China, the United Kingdom and the United States. Since the launch of Data Passport, M1 has seen a more than 100% increase in active data roamers, and total data roaming traffic has grown by three times.
