SaskTel and Axiom Exploration Group Ltd., have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to collaboratively explore opportunities that will help organizations across Saskatchewan enhance and modernize their operations through the collection and analysis of geospatial and other geophysical data.
“Transforming our economy through the integration and development of innovative technologies is a key part of our government’s plan to build a strong and prosperous future for Saskatchewan,” said Don Morgan, Minister Responsible for SaskTel . “I am pleased to see SaskTel and Axiom combine their collective skillsets to support and foster innovation in our province.”
Based in Saskatoon, Axiom is a multi-disciplinary consulting firm that collects, processes and utilizes data from satellites, unmanned aerial vehicles, manned aircraft and terrestrial methods to collect and analyze unique geospatial data sets through the use of various specialized imaging technologies, including LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging), Photogrammetry, Electromagnetic, Magnetic, Radiometric, Ground Penetrating Radar, Hyper/Multispectral, and Thermal sensors. In turn, Axiom uses advanced Artificial Intelligence, Machine and Deep Learning to translate rich datasets into meaningful insights.
“We’re extremely pleased to partner with Axiom,” said Doug Burnett, SaskTel President and CEO. “Their unique skillset will be a valuable addition to the innovation ecosystem we have systematically developed in recent years and will help us transform Saskatchewan into a smart province where technology-based solutions play an integral role in supporting and driving economic growth."
