"I am convinced we have reached an agreement that benefits all parties involved. The fact that Digi Communications Belgium and Citymesh Connect choose to collaborate with Proximus, highlights our mobile excellence and proves the strength of our open network strategy, allowing us to capture value out of the capacity, coverage and performance of our gigabit networks," said, Guillaume Boutin, CEO of the Proximus Group.

Digi Communications mission is to provide its customers with high-quality telecommunications services at competitive prices. Specific components of its strategy include the following:

Continue to leverage its advanced fixed networks in Romania and Hungary, offering high-quality service, while maintaining competitive prices.

The current technological state of Romanian and Hungarian fixed networks allows the company to offer a wide range of advanced high-quality services to customers at competitive prices, while maintaining low infrastructure operating expenses.

In particular, its Romanian and Hungarian networks are more than 90% fiber (excluding certain parts of Invitel’s network, which we are currently upgrading) and are faster and more cost-effective than traditional networks operated by our competitors in those countries.

Digi intends to continue leveraging existing network capabilities to further increase the number of cable TV and fixed internet and data subscribers in those core markets.

In both countries, it intends to also continue expanding  networks further (particularly, in rural areas) and it plans to finalize the upgrade of Invitel’s Hungarian network to fiber in the near future, along with further upgrades to FTTH elsewhere.
