InfiNet Wireless, the global provider of fixed broadband wireless connectivity, has announced that Pakistan’s K-Electric Limited, has decided to upgrade its wireless network infrastructure with InfiNet Wireless’ industry leading point-to-point (PTP) solutions.

The new InfiNet network, which will span KEL’s 130 points of presence (PoPs) across 6,500 square kilometres of industrial, commercial, agricultural and residential areas, will allow all KEL employees and contractors (over 3,200 endpoints) to communicate internally, access all internal and external customer records, execute workflows such as SAP ISU based billing and ultimately ensure they provide the highest level of service to their 22 million customers in Karachi and the adjacent suburbs.

Explaining the decision to select InfiNet Wireless, Abdul Rasheed explained, “Going into the RFP process, at the top of our priority list was the need for the new solution to not only meet our high-bandwidth requirements but as importantly, be robust and reliable, particularly in harsh conditions within the city limits where wireless interference is a major problem. During our proof of concept (PoC) phase, the InfiLINK 2×2 solution proposed by Netsat (InfiNet’s partner in Pakistan) consistently met our bandwidth and capacity requirements without any degradation in performance.”

Another differentiating factor was InfiNet’s “pay-as-you-grow” software upgradeable capacity feature, which made the solution extremely cost-effective, especially when the initial allocated budget was limited. All the InfiNet solutions available today provide a high degree of scalability to cater for increasingly unpredictable application traffic loads, while still meeting strict performance and QoS expectations. Even the smallest of the InfiNet Wireless units provide a native capability to increase its capacity and performance as future needs change, something that can be achieved via a license upgrade.

Since its foundation, InfiNet has maintained organic growth through innovation and the ability to deliver complete customer satisfaction throughout. Listening to its customers for more than 22 years, coupled with its innovative approach in research and development, have resulted in a range of advanced fixed wireless connectivity solutions that are a perfect fit for many requirements, making InfiNet Wireless the natural choice for global communication corporations and governments, all of whom require uncompromised connectivity.

With over 500,000 deployments from the plains of Siberia to the deserts of the Sahara, InfiNet Wireless is active in market segments that deliver Broadband Wireless Access to service providers of all types, government entities, transportation sector (including mobile and nomadic functionality) and Oil & Gas.
