Ooredoo Myanmar Debuts APPathon – the Digital Design Innovation Challenge

In line with Ooredoo Myanmar’s vision of enriching people’s digital lives with digital transformation and provide the opportunity to Myanmar youths to be part of this amazing digital journey.

As part of this ongoing commitment to drive digital ecosystem, Ooredoo Myanmar is announcing Myanmar’s first Virtual and Digital Design Innovation Challenge: the APPathon. Creative app designers from all levels are encouraged to participate, and will be using all their design skills to compete and win the exciting rewards.

The aim of this APPathon is to engage and empower Myanmar’s youth to co-create the next generation of digital products and services. This Innovation Challenge aims to drive product design innovation: the participants will have to redesign “My Ooredoo App” by providing innovative and creative design inputs to offer the best user interface and customer experience. Throughout the challenge, participants will also receive feedback and mentorship from Ooredoo & industry experts.

Alok Verma, Chief Commercial Officer of Ooredoo Myanmar remarks, “We are delighted to offer this opportunity to all the young, bright and creative talents to participate in this exciting digital and virtual design innovation challenge. Participants will not only gain experience in the telco industry, but will also have a chance to have their designs be part of a next generation of applications.”

Visual design enthusiasts, who are 18 years old and above, at all levels (Junior, amateur, professionals) are welcome to apply in a team of 1-3 persons. The applicants must be familiar with prototyping tools, and online coordination platforms.

The challenge will run over 2 periods: Engagement Phase (24th Sept – 1st of October) and Innovation Phase (2nd – 14th of October)

The winners will be announced on 14th of October 2020.

The winning team, the first and second runner up will receive the rewards of USD$3,000, USD$2,000 and USD$1,000 respectively. The third and fourth runner up will also receive certificates of excellence.
