Out of many smartphone choices today, OnePlus 3T is still one of our favorite smartphones in the market in India and it is now on sale in a stunning new Midnight Black edition as well.

We used this device for over three months now and here is why we believe it is delivering almost perfect performance.

The device is able to deliver a consistent, powerful performance over the past three months. I have used it extensively to perform daily tasks such as taking videos, pictures, playing games, using maps etc and I am extremely impressed with the OnePlus 3T battery. It has always given me a peaceful day. With this device, at least I don’t have to worry about the battery bar.

OnePlus is a unique company that has got a huge passion for delivering innovative devices and OnePlus 3T doesn’t fall short there. Powered with its innovative design and hardware attributes, it is fast competing with the likes of Apple, Google and Samsung in the smartphone market.

The company’s OnePlus 3 carried a unique blend of design and performance and created its own mark in the market – with OnePlus 3T, the company has upgraded the device and is delivering a wonderful package of powerful performance in the hands of users.

It is all because of the values of the company, based on listening to its customers’ reaction to its products and features. And hence, it is perhaps the only brand that has updated a handset that its customers have had for less than half a year. Actually, it is constantly updating its products - for example, in March 2017 it announced new Collette and Midnight Black editions in the market.

OnePlus 3T: Design and build

OnePlus 3T retains an outstanding design, with a build quality that is primed to rival any premium smartphone maker in the market today. Carved out of one piece of space-grade aluminium alloy the OnePlus 3T measures 153 x 75 x 7.4mm and weighs 158g. This alloy body is giving this device tremendous amount of strength and yet, it is not too heavy to handle. This is one design factor has made us cling on to this device, actually the design is so powerful, it becomes a point of attraction.

From the looks of it – this device carries a simplistic design form factor. The frame of OnePlus 3T comes with a power/lock button on the right edge, a USB-C port, speaker, mic and 3.5mm headphone jack on the bottom and a volume rocker and Alert Slider on the left, this leaves the top edge flat, curved and smooth – adding to the delight of your eyes.

OnePlus 3T: Hardware and Performance

It is important to note that much of the 3T's spec sheet remains the same as its predecessor but there are also some important upgrades. And we experienced them all.

OnePlus 3T screen

OnePlus 3T comes with a 5.5in Optic AMOLED with Full HD (1920x1080) resolution and 401ppi. This screen is primed for delivering absolutely stunning imagery. Whether it is video or still content – colors are quite distinctly bright, vivid and carry an amazing tone.

OnePlus 3T: processor, memory and storage

We’ve used the OnePlus 3 for a three months and the device has delivered ‘consistently consistent’ performance. Despite the fact that we used it for multitude of tasks - we experienced absolutely no lag, slow app changes or overheating issues in this device. It magically handles all the modern day usage pressures.

It is quite interesting that many a times – I have compared its performance with the Dell Vostro laptop that I have been using for some years – the fact that OnePlus 3T has 6GB on board – has helped it deliver amazingly smooth performance and experience.

And when you pair this with Adreno 530 graphics, you have a perfectly crafted, powerful smartphone at your side.

OnePlus 3T battery performance

The OnePlus 3T comes with 3,400mAh battery, a step up from the 3,000 of the OnePlus 3. As we experienced almost on a daily basis - in general use the phone will last a full working day which is about average.

It is quite safe to confirm that if you are a heavy user - OnePlus 3T will last the whole day no questions asked and in case of lighter users – this battery should be able to deliver decent amount of charge into a second day as well.

And yes, also included in the box is OnePlus’ Dash Charger. Dash Charge is absolutely marvelous. It means that you need not charge your phone overnight and instead give it a powerful boost whenever you feel like.

OnePlus 3T: Cameras

OnePlus 3T comes with 16Mp lens with f/2.0 aperture and an LED flash. It’s also capable of shooting video at 4K resolution or 1080p resolution at 60 frames per second.

We have used this camera quite comprehensively in and around New Delhi – to click some shots of monuments, flowers and natural beauty, and the results are quite impressive.

The front-facing 16Mp camera is an upgrade on the 8Mp of the OnePlus 3. It’s an impressive upgrade and can surely help a lot in case you are a selfie fan.

Final Verdict

After our long term review we can surely say that OnePlus 3T is everything a true next generation smartphone should be - sleek, fast, and responsive, comes with above average battery life and cameras that produce great quality images.

And then there’s the all so very interesting price point. OnePlus 3T starts at INR 29,999 and is available at Amazon.in – this remains a great price point to offer keeping in mind the amazing amalgamation of hardware and software that this smartphone is delivering.
