MBaer Bank has opted for banking services from Swisscom. As it moves into the digital future, MBaer Bank is outsourcing its IT and back-office processes to Swisscom, including payment transactions and securities handling.

In spring 2024, the Zurich-based merchant bank will migrate to Swisscom’s managed banking platform using the Finnova core banking system, replacing the IT platform that the fast-growing bank has used since its launch five years ago.

The bank is fully outsourcing its IT infrastructure and business processes: Swisscom will maintain and further develop MBaer’s IT systems and provide transaction processing for payment transactions and securities.

MBaer has become the eleventh bank to use Swisscom’s Managed Banking Platform Services. In total, Swisscom provides ICT services for around 100 banks throughout Switzerland, taking over parts of the value chain from IT to handling business processes such as payment transactions, investments or securities data. According to Mike Baer, founder and CEO of the bank, the crucial factor behind the outsourcing decision was Swisscom’s expertise: “Swisscom understands our full range of services, from wealth management to transaction banking, giving us valuable time to focus on the needs of our customers, their families and their businesses.”

Robert Gebel, Head of Banking at Swisscom, adds: “We are delighted to be able to contribute to the success of MBaer Bank as a partner and supplier.”
