M1 Limited has launched three new initiatives to corporate customers. The new network and technology will enable corporate customers of all sizes to leverage technology to improve their competitiveness and operational efficiency.
The enhanced corporate connectivity rollouts are:
Next-generation symmetrical connectivity: The world's first symmetrical 10Gbps PON (passive optical network) is now available from M1.
The new symmetric PON service enables M1 to deliver highly reliable, low-latency symmetrical 10Gbps upload and download speeds with guaranteed bitrates islandwide. Enterprises can then leverage on this connectivity for cloud computing, software defined networking (SDN), 4K/8K video transfers, and other applications.
Unified operations monitoring centre (UOMC): M1 customers will be able to tap on its next-generation UOMC for real-time information for not just network services, but also IT infrastructure in both private and public cloud.
Advanced technology built into the architecture will deliver predictive information, including early warning of impending equipment failure, and thus provide customers the ability to take proactive action to rectify possible faults before they occur. The UOMC can also partner and inter-operate with other SOCs (security operating centres), to address increasingly advance cyber threats and provide streamlined IT incident management.
M1 fibre to the building: M1 has expanded its fibre network to buildings in Shenton Way, Orchard Road and Buona Vista. The state-of-the-art fibre network with full redundancy capability, will enable M1 to offer its own high speed corporate connectivity services to more than 55 shopping malls, offices and commercial buildings in those areas.
Through this network, M1 is able to better manage provision of services end-to-end, such as activation within seven to 10 days of sign-up compared to current 14 days, and provide service level agreement of up to 99.999%.
'The corporate segment is a key growth sector for M1, and we have accelerated our investments in technology, infrastructure and expertise to better serve our customers. With the successful launch of our symmetrical PON solution, next-generation unified operations monitoring centre and fibre to the building infrastructure, M1 can offer advance customised high bandwidth connectivity to meet the growing requirements of Internet of Things, Smart Nation, Cloud and Big Data solutions from our customers,' said Willis Sim, Chief Corporate Sales and Solutions Officer, M1.
