With the Indian government putting big emphasis on ‘Made in India’ products, as a global test and measurement products and solutions provider, Keysight Technologies is bullish about the potential of India as a key market.

Keysight Technologies is the new name given to Agilent Technologies Electronic Measurement Group. The company has formally adopted this name on 1st of August, 2014.

“We have three primary areas of focus in the form of Aerospace / Defense, Communications and Digital space. As Indian government is putting a lot of focus towards producing products, locally, we are ideally placed to cater to the test and measurement requirements arising from such an opportunity,” informed, Sudhir Tangri, country general manager, Keysight Technologies India.

Specifically speaking about the smartphone manufacturing domain, he mentioned that today there is a lot of maturity being experienced in the Indian handset manufacturing space.

“Over the past couple of years, there is a lot of consolidation that has happened in this space. Today, we have people who are serious about their manufacturing capabilities. Within the last one year, we have seen at least three Indian manufacturing companies setting their manufacturing plants in India. This trend is likely to continue. As such organizations look forward to producing better and more smartphones or handsets, it is all about delivering high quality and rigorous testing. This is where we come in with our expertise on repeatability, high accuracy and precision,” he added.

Keysight Measurement Insights

Keysight Technologies, Inc. has also completed its flagship event tour of Keysight Measurement Insights (KMI). The event, held on Sept. 9th, 11th and 16th , brought customers a world class experience in digital and wireless test solutions.

At the event, Keysight introduced five new products: two high-performance portable oscilloscopes – 1) the Infiniium S‐Series and 2) InfiniiVision 6000 X-Series oscilloscopes; 3) the E6640A EXM wireless test set;4) the E7515A UXM wireless test set and 5) the M8195A arbitrary waveform generator.

Over 600 participants attended the event, representing the communications, semi-conductors, aerospace and defense, education, and engineering services industries. Attendees included designers, engineers, engineering managers and scientists. The event provided an environment for industry leaders to connect and further build on the latest trends in the digital and wireless domains. The event provided a forum to experience the latest technologies, interact with real-world product demonstrations, attend technical presentations, and meet with industry-leading application and industry experts.

“As the world’s leading electronic test and measurement company, Keysight works hand-in-hand with customers to innovate on solutions which can address test challenges and pain points,” said, Sudhir Tangri, country general manager, Keysight Technologies, India, “Our team of experts develop equipment and systems ahead of the technology wave, thus clearing the path for our customers to develop the components, modules and devices that make our connected world possible.”

Keysight-Product-Launch

“We have launched five new products specially designed to meet the needs of our Indian customers. With our ever growing operational and channel presence in India, we will share first to market leading-edge products and solutions that give our customers the engineering confidence to meet and exceed their objectives.” Tangri added.

Keysight Measurement Insights 2014, India’s largest digital &wireless test technologies event, was successfully held in Bangalore, Hyderabad and Delhi. Keysight is planning to hold additional regional tours in the near future.

The new products and solutions from Keysight technologies included:

New EXM Wireless Test Set Ready for Volume Production of LTE-Advanced, 802.11ac WLAN Devices

The E6640A EXM wireless test set is designed to offer breakthrough manufacturing-test scalability in technology coverage, performance and capacity to test up to 32 cellular and wireless-connectivity devices in parallel. The EXM offers manufacturers the speed, accuracy and multi-port density to ramp up rapidly and optimize full-volume manufacturing. To accelerate test development, the EXM is synchronized with the latest cellular and WLAN chipsets.

E7515A UXM Wireless Test Set for Functional and RF Design Validation

The E7515A UXM wireless test set, the most highly integrated signalling test set created for functional and RF design validation in the 4G era and beyond. The UXM provides a broad range of capabilities that enable testing of the newest wireless device designs, delivering LTE-Advanced category 6 now and handling increasingly complex test cases in the future.

Two New High-Performance Portable Oscilloscopes

The new Infiniium S-Series has the world’s fastest 10-bit ADC. Compared with traditional scopes with 8-bit ADCs, the S-Series has four times the vertical resolution for precise viewing of signal detail. Coupled with a new low-noise front end, the S-Series delivers an ENOB (effective number of bits) for the system of more than eight, the highest in the industry. The series includes bandwidths from 500 MHz to 8 GHz with four-channel DSO models and 16-digital-channel MSO models. Standard memory is 50 Mpts per channel or 100 Mpts per channel when interleaved, the deepest in the industry.

The new InfiniiVision 6000 X-Series is the first oscilloscope to offer 6 GHz bandwidth starting at $29,500, less than half the price of competitors’ oscilloscopes with comparable bandwidths. The new line-up includes 2- and 4-channel DSO models and MSO models with 16 digital channels and with bandwidths from 1 GHz to 6 GHz at 20-GS/s sample rate. The 6000 X-Series oscilloscopes offer these capabilities for the first time in an oscilloscope of this size. Its weight of 6.8 kg (15 lbs.) and depth of 15 cm (6 inches) are one-third of similar bandwidth products on the market today, setting a new standard for portability in multi-GHz-bandwidth oscilloscopes.

65-GSa/s High-Speed Arbitrary Waveform Generator

The new high-speed, wide-bandwidth M8195A arbitrary waveform generator allows engineers to generate digital, multilevel (e.g. PAM4, MIPI C-PHY) signal scenarios and test their electrical and optical links with complex modulated signals up to 32 GB and and beyond. This makes the M8195A the most versatile signal generator in the industry.
