Indosat Ooredoo, as the Indonesia’s leading digital telecommunications company, continues its support for the digital transformation of Surakarta City as a continuation from Indosat Ooredoo’s 5G Launch.
This sustainable partnership for city's economic recovery, is named the ‘Kampung Digital’ Program that connects the community with the Surakarta City Government through trusted information channels, real-time, and supports two-way communication.
Indosat Ooredoo realizes a ‘Kampung Digital’ through the installation hundreds of encrypted smart screens, including high speed modem, and data quota for 1 year, in RT (Rukun Tetangga -neighborhood) posts and village halls. The source of information uses a centralized Smart Information System (SI Pintar), where the Surakarta City government carries out the management and supervision. The digital information system is integrated into many aspects of the needs of the urban community, such as social, economic, cultural arts, information, and city government policies and their ranks.
The inauguration of ‘Kampung Digital’ Program coincided with the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) of Economic Recovery by the Director & Chief Operating Officer of Indosat Ooredoo, Vikram Sinha, with the Mayor of Surakarta, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, at the Tawang Arum Hall, Surakarta Mayor's Office. The event was carried out by implementing strict health protocols to reduce the spread of COVID19.
"We are very happy to support the digital transformation of Solo as a continuation from our 5G launch earlier this year. We believe that this sustainable partnership would result in Solo’s economic recovery. This would not have been possible without the support and commitment of the Mayor that always strive to increase the potential of the community by utilizing digital technology. Today marks an important date for our collaboration with the Surakarta City Government through Kampung Digital as a step forward towards a digital society. We hope that these initiatives will accelerate the economic recovery, that will most definitely maximize the potential of Surakarta citizens and government,” said Vikram Sinha.
The implementation of SI Pintar will use an information centralization scheme originating from the City Government Kominfo smart information hub. Information content that can be tailored to the needs in videos, images, text, or websites will be transmitted through a cloud-based system. The information will be received simultaneously on the smart TV screen at the community gathering point, and its performance can be monitored as an evaluation and analysis effort through cloud-based smart information hub. Indosat Ooredoo's internet connection fully supports the entire scheme for delivering information content.
The ‘Kampung Digital’ Program continues Indosat Ooredoo's support for economic recovery for the City of Surakarta, which previously presented 5G technology, arts, and cultural festivals, empowering MSMEs through Rasa Solo, and supported the acceleration of the vaccine program for the elderly. Furthermore, along with the signing of the MoU, Indosat Ooredoo will provide support in the form of digital talent education through the Local Content Creator Camp and IDCamp AR Class programs and Digital Transformation Training for State Civil Apparatus (ASN) and Go Digital SMEs.
The Mayor of Surakarta, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, said, "Indosat Ooredoo's commitment to the City of Solo does not stop here. Previously with the launch of 5G, and today through the launch of Kampung Digital. There will be more programs such as Collabonation and Augmented Reality, which will be accelerated in 2022."
