At Huawei’s 2021 Industrial Digital Transformation Conference , Huawei presented its latest CloudFabric 3.0 hyperconverged data center network solution. This future-proof solution is ideal for building lossless computing and storage networks based on an all-Ethernet architecture, and is designed to release 100% of computing capacity.
In addition, as an L3 autonomous driving network, this solution also stands out for offering complete lifecycle network automation and intelligent O&M across the entire network, reducing OPEX by up to 30% and enabling smart upgrades for companies.
Kevin Hu , President of Huawei’s data communication product line, said: “The data center stores large amounts of valuable data. Data is the main production factor in the smart world. During the digitization of companies, we need to use data at all times, therefore, data needs to be stored and transmitted efficiently. To that end, storage and networking must be very collaborative in data centers. ”
He continued: “Most storage devices are all-flash and more services are being transferred to the cloud. With these changes, data center networks are transforming towards all Ethernet. However, traditional Ethernet now faces several challenges, such as the elimination of network problems caused by packet loss. Such challenges include loss of computing and data capacity, as well as the implementation of complex services and network O&M. ”
To overcome these challenges, Huawei launched the latest CloudFabric 3.0 hyperconverged data center networking solution. The following are just a few of the innovations that set this solution apart from the competition:
Ethernet for high performance computing: eliminates the loss of Ethernet packets and frees 100% of computing capacity
Huawei introduced a lossless intelligent algorithm (iLossless) for network connectivity, which dynamically adjusts parameter settings based on real-time network traffic status to allow zero packet loss on data center networks and maximize the ability to computing.
Active-Active All-Ethernet storage network: allows lossless long-distance transmission over Ethernet and increases the performance of active-active storage
Huawei took a significant step in long-distance data transmission by launching the iLossless-DCI algorithm, which extends lossless transmission distances over Ethernet to a maximum of 70 km. Compared to conventional storage networks, this feature-rich, active-active all-Ethernet storage network improves input and output operations per second (IOPS) by more than 80%.
Full lifecycle network automation: implements the network as a service (NaaS) and service provisioning in seconds
Huawei’s CloudFabric 3.0 also innovates with 3D modeling, which allows automated design and the ideal recommendation of network solutions through an ideal multidimensional and comprehensive solution. The resulting benefits include NaaS, service provisioning in seconds and complete network intelligence throughout the lifecycle covering network planning, construction, maintenance and optimization.
Intelligent O&M across the entire network: it achieves fault self-healing services and guarantees 24/7 continuous service
Huawei has also launched a new wave of intelligent O&M across the entire network, introducing knowledge plots into data center networks, implementing quick fault finding in minutes and proactive forecasting of up to 97% of network risks. Thanks to intelligent O&M features across the network, Huawei’s CloudFabric 3.0 enables a beneficial transformation from passive to proactive O&M, ensuring always-on services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
This latest data center network solution is developed based on joint innovation between Huawei and leading global customers in the industry. Looking ahead, the trend towards digital energy is really revolutionizing networks. To keep pace, Huawei will continue to improve network capabilities to maximize computing power and enable smart upgrades for businesses of all sizes. To date, Huawei’s data center network solutions have been deployed in more than 12,000 data centers worldwide, offering excellent services for a wide range of sectors, including finance, government, ISP, manufacturing and energy.
