How Gionee is Continuing its Winning Strategy in India

At a time when a number of global smartphone brands are going gung-ho about aligning themselves up with a number of leading e-commerce portals such as Flipkart.com or Amazon.in and sell through flash sales model – Gionee India, on the other hand, is continuing its winning strategy to partner with offline retail channel ecosystem.

The company has now partnered with 5 such leading LFRs in India to considerably increase its retail channel presence in India and move ahead with its winning formula of ensuring its product availability at the offline channel stores and move another notch closer to the end user community in India.

Gionee, a global provider of mobile devices has expanded its offline retail channel through its collaboration with India’s leading Large Format Retail or LFR channel partners in India.

Embarking on the view to reach out to a wider audience and offer better customer experience, Gionee has partnered with leading retail players including Spice, The Mobile Store, Mobiliti World, Jumbo Electronics, Croma Retail & Planet M.

Increasing its presence in the smartphone market, Gionee handsets will now be available across 1000+ stores and the brand aims to sell 35000+ additional devices every month immediately and scale it up at a constant pace in the coming future.

Commenting on the association Arvind Vohra, Country CEO and MD, Gionee India said, “Indian smartphone market is growing at a rapid pace and this association is our effort to increase our presence and making our handsets readily accessible to our customers anywhere and everywhere. We are glad to partner with the biggest names of the retail industry to officially sell our devices. Our consumers can now walk into any of these retail outlets and experience a Gionee smartphone. Through this move we look at increasing our sale by over 10% percent in the coming year”.

Currently, Gionee sells through its exclusive brand stores, shop-in-shops and the company’s e-store. Through the current retail model Gionee has been driving impressive sales and the tie-up with the modern retail outlets will scale up the availability of Gionee handsets and will go on to compliment the overall sales of the brand.

Gionee has been rapidly expanding its footprint in India by opening brand stores and aims to open 250 brand stores in next one year. The company also has 800 service centers up and running and aims to have 1000 by end 2015.
