Chinese smartphone maker Gionee is all set to unfurl on March 21st – its latest flagship and also the first member to its ‘A’ series handset in the Indian market.

With a 16 MP front camera and a mega 4000 mAh battery – this smartphone is built to deliver great photography. The company has also showcased this at the recently held Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

Design and Build

Gionee A1 has a premium metal build and feels quite good in hands. This smartphone weighs 182g, but the company has done good in terms of managing this weight around the body and we did not feel the weight of this handset much in our hands.

Crisp Display

Gionee A1 smartphone comes with a 5.5-inch 1080P IPS display with 2.5D curved Corning Gorilla Glass protection. This display offers great user experience especially when watching videos etc and even while playing games.

While using this smartphone for about three days – we have not seen any issue with color combinations and brightness levels – it is just about perfect.

Camera Performance

This selfie-focused smartphone comes with a 16MP front camera, directed towards attracting eyeballs of users who love selfies. The camera also has a LED flashlight which can light up images in not so good lighting conditions.

We noticed that the pictures taken from the front camera come with good level of detailing and the sensor of this smartphone captures natural colour tones as well. The 13MP rear camera of this phone captures decent quality images in well-lit conditions.

Gionee A1 comes packed with MediaTek Helio P10 chipset equipped with 4GB of RAM to support multitasking capabilities. While reviewing this phone, we took the device to multiple level of multi tasking and we haven’t come across any performance lag so far. Gionee A1 comes with 64GB of internal storage that can be expanded by up to 128GB via microSD card and hence, storage should not be an issue for its users.

When it comes to connectivity, Gionee A1 has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, dual-SIM support, VoLTE, and comes with GPS support as well.
