European esports giant Fnatic and smartphone manufacturer OnePlus are taking their official partnership to the next level. The relationship between Fnatic and OnePlus will take its first steps into a new phase of collaboration at Legends in Action Live, a live stream event hosted from Berlin today (13th January 2019), where Fnatic’s new playing jersey for 2019 will be revealed.
As one part of the long-term collaboration, which has evolved over recent years across various events created to engage esports fans, OnePlus will brand the front of the newly designed playing jersey, replacing ‘Fnatic’- representing a landmark moment for both organisations.
“Gaming has always been central to OnePlus and working with Fnatic was, from the beginning, a natural partnership born from friendship: two like-minded organizations looking to push the boundaries. We’re excited for this to be our first-ever global sponsorship in esports! Together, we’ll continue to change industries and attitudes, through a joint passion to Never Settle.” said Carl Pei, Co-Founder of OnePlus.
“This is a hugely significant moment in the history of Fnatic. I’ve known Carl Pei for a long time and we’ve always shared the same mantra of challenging the norm and always looking for more – be it success with our teams, our products or as brands,” said Sam Mathews, Founder and Chairman, Fnatic. “We share the same values when it comes to performance and becoming the best we can possibly be, so in OnePlus we have the perfect partner to take Fnatic into a new era.”
OnePlus is known for its fast and smooth performance – beautifully designed products with premium build quality. The recently launched OnePlus 6T has a rich and immersive display, with a 6.41-inch Optic AMOLED display at a 19.5:9 aspect ratio for great viewing angles. Combining the latest hardware with OnePlus’ bespoke ‘Gaming Mode’ optimisations, the OnePlus 6T the perfect smartphone for mobile gamers and esports fans alike.
As well getting a first glimpse of the new playing jersey during Legends in Action Live, fans will get to know the new members of the League of Legends roster through two-hours of player interviews, Q&As and exclusive previews ahead of the new League of Legends LEC season, which begins on January 19th.
Fnatic now turns its focus to the new look LEC. Fnatic will compete against nine other leading teams for the title of European Champions. Fnatic’s final against Invictus Gaming last November became the most watched ever, viewed by an estimated 200+ million people worldwide.
