Ericsson and T·B·TAK extend partnership

Ericsson and The Scientific and Technological Research Council of T·rkiye (T·B·TAK) signed a five-year extension of their ongoing partnership at the 'Ericsson Research Days T·rkiye 2023' event to support Ericsson in further exploring new 6G research projects in the country.

The event brought together T·rkiye's local research and innovation community, including universities, operators, start-ups, and key industry players. Through international keynote speeches, panel discussions, training sessions for university students, and a range of live demonstrations and use cases, Ericsson shed light on the outcomes of collaborative research projects, showcased the latest developments in Information and Communications Technology (ICT) and explored the future aspirations of Ericsson Research in T·rkiye.

Ericsson and T·B·TAK extend partnership

Ericsson Research in T·rkiye is the first research laboratory in the Turkish ICT sector supported by T·B·TAK's TEYDEB 1515 – Frontier Research and Development Laboratories Support Program. Over the last five years, it secured European Commission funding under the European Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertaking (SNS JU) for cutting edge projects like HEXA-X-II, VERGE, TARGET-X, and DESIRE6G. Together, with the pioneering research and industry organizations from Europe, 6G research is conducted by several Ericsson Research entities including Ericsson Research in T·rkiye.

Under the T·B·TAK 1601 Innovation and Entrepreneurship Support Program, Ericsson Research in T·rkiye is committed to increase engagements with the start-up ecosystem in T·rkiye. It is an approved application center for entrepreneurs, providing mentorship, coaching, and training on ICT competence areas to the young entrepreneurs under the 'BIGG6G' consortium which consists of Ericsson Research in T·rkiye, T·rk Telekom Ventures, and ODTU TEKNOKENT.
