magicapk.com has leaked critical details of Reliance Jio Users in India
In what could very well be termed as the biggest data leak in the country – India’s Reliance Jio user data is compromised at a website called magicapk.com – once the Reliance Jio mobile number is entered – the site delivered pretty much everything from user’s name to its linked Aadhar Number.
This data leak showcases the dark side of Digital verse where – security can be compromised on a single click of a button. While the site seems to be down now – we have still managed to get a glimpse of the site through the Internet Archives.
Earlier in the day, multiple users in India have reported that Magicapk has got access to data of existing Reliance Jio users.
It is important to note that Reliance Jio – India’s green field 4G operator has over 100 million users on its network as of now, and in case this data breach is reflected for all of its user base – then we have a major situation on our hands.
Expressing their anger, a number of users tweeted, expressing concern about the security of their critical data being leaked.
It may be recalled that heralding a digital revolution – Jio became the first first telecom operator in India to initiate the usage of Aadhaar number for performing the task of SIM activation. Users were signed up in a matter of minutes just by verifying their biometric data and their Aadhaar number.
When it comes to the website magicapk.com – the website has been registered in India, but there are no details as to who owns this portal.
