stc group, the digital enabler in the region, concluded its first phase of the smart bus tour, launched to enable the elderly to handle modern technologies.
The smart bus toured many governorates in Riyadh, which is considered part of stc’s community initiatives to enhance digital knowledge for all segments of society in the Kingdom and achieve sustainability and social responsibility goals. Moreover, it enabled digital inclusion through its partnership with Huawei.
Since its inception, the smart bus has attracted more than 2000 elderly beneficiaries. It educated them about griping modern technologies and using the most important mobile applications, including more than 140 awareness technology sessions focusing on government applications such as Absher, Tawakkalna, Sehaty, Tawakkalna Services, and Najiz, in addition to the mystc application.
The smart bus helped the elderly obtain services and raised awareness about using the Internet to protect them from electronic fraud crimes. It also raised their awareness in the field of confidentiality and preservation of information.
The project supported the elderly in identifying the most important skills and modern technologies through smart buses roaming many governorates of the Kingdom. The tour visited Al-Quwayiyah village, Al-Dawadmi, Al-Jamsh Center, and Shaqra, Ushaiger, Rawdat Sudair, Al-Qasab, Al-Zulfi, Al-Kharj, Al-Aflaj, and Al-Sulayil. The bus was launched last February to reach the largest number of older people to enrich their knowledge and empower them in the digital field.
The Smart Bus project is considered a continuation of stc group projects as part of its community initiatives to support communities and non-profit sectors and to complement its efforts in the field of sustainability to contribute to a sustainable future and double the positive environmental and social impact, based on its leading position as the most prominent digital service provider in the Kingdom and the region.
