Expanding its global product portfolio, China based CUBOT, has selected Kenya’s city of Mombasa to kick off the global launch of its Note S smartphone, on 14 February.
CUBOT’s vision is to put a high-quality smartphone in every pocket, a device packed with features often reserved for premium-priced devices. The new Note S punches above its weight and is unlocked for use anywhere in the world.
The entry-level Android handset is feature-rich and stands out from the crowd thanks to one of four special-edition Africa-inspired case and wallpaper-mask illustrations, conceived by notable African designers.
Launch campaign
In a first for Kenyan TV, the Note S officially launches during the Valentine’s Day special of The Churchill Show, a primetime entertainment programme on the NTV network, hosted by comedian Daniel “Churchill” Ndambuki.
The Note S will be integrated within the running order of The Churchill Show, which is East Africa’s most-watched programme with 1.95 million viewers and a live audience of more than 5,000. Ndambuki’s Facebook page ranks in the top 10 for engagement in Kenya and has over 1.7 million likes.
Simultaneously CUBOT will take-over Kilimall, the nation’s largest online shopping mall, where the Note S is exclusively available. Shoppers will get the chance to win one of 50 handsets for the bargain price of 1 KSh ($0.01 USD) on its Tubargain promotions page.

Conceived and engineered for elegance and strength with fast, smooth graphics, the Note S offers high-speed immersive HD-viewing and gaming on a 5.5” anti-oil and fingerprint toughened screen that remains vivid in bright conditions.
