Cortina Systems, delivering innovative technologies that link people and networks worldwide, has announced participation with Oliver Solutions, a provider of SDN/NFV based management software for access networks, in the first chip-level interoperability of symmetric 10G-EPON devices based on DPoE specifications at CableLabs.
Together with Oliver Solutions’ DPoE software stack, the Cortina CS8124 10G-EPON OLT and CS8160 10G-EPON ONU devices successfully demonstrated end-to-end interoperability tests, including: Multiple LLID, IPv6 based provisioning, Non-secure firmware upgrade and Customer VLAN and Service VLAN operations.
“CableLabs is proud to facilitate these interoperability events so companies like Cortina Systems can drive the implementation of this technology into the market. This enables MSOs to deploy PON-based services with existing DOCSIS® provisioning backend and processes,” commented Dr. Curtis Knittle, Director, CableLabs.
“Together with Cortina Systems, we are opening the door to a whole new era of fiber-based services enabled by DPoE specifications,” said Gilad Aloni, CEO, Oliver Solutions. “With the successful interoperability, we have demonstrated that our software stack developed based on DPoE 2.0 specifications, running on both Cortina OLT and ONU devices, offers MSOs a complete end-to-end provisioning solution of 10G-EPON with currently deployed servers.”
“We are thrilled to participate in this CableLabs interoperability event, and cooperate with Oliver Solutions to create an ecosystem designed to accelerate the product development cycle and maximize revenue for our ODM/OEM partners and their end customers,” said Lup Ng, marketing director, Cortina Systems. “Cortina 10G-EPON SoC products are field tested and well suited for delivering the full range of services MSOs are planning with PON technologies.”
