Cisco, Optus Partner to Drive BroadCloud Calling across Australia

Cisco has announced Optus Business as the first Australian telco provider of BroadCloud Calling – a complete cloud-based platform which enables service providers to deliver voice and collaboration services over IP-based networks.

From June, Optus Business will offer Australian enterprises a new cloud based Unified Communications service as Optus Cloud Calling.

Underpinned by Cisco’s BroadCloud platform, Optus Cloud Calling will offer Australian enterprises a complete cloud-based collaboration experience leveraging Cisco’s comprehensive collaboration portfolio. Capabilities will include enterprise telephony, native mobility and advanced conferencing and collaboration tools.

Optus will provide a complete end-to-end managed service bundled with its Evolve Voice SIP trunking and business mobile services. Optus is currently the first and only tier one telco in Australia to deploy the BroadCloud platform as a complete cloud-based solution.

Cisco announced the completion of its acquisition of BroadSoft in February 2018. BroadSoft accelerates Cisco’s cloud strategy and collaboration portfolio by adding the industry’s leading cloud calling and contact centre solutions to Cisco’s leading calling, meetings, messaging, customer care, hardware endpoints and services portfolio.
