AT&T, celebrated this Independence Day with a focus on the country’s veterans and their families by providing 100 Udacity Nanodegree scholarships to support skills development through VetsinTech and the Military Child Education Coalition.
Veterans bring exceptional skills from their military service that span teamwork and leadership, critical thinking and problem solving, endurance, strength and resiliency—all of which easily apply to the business world and successful careers in technology.
These Udacity Nanodegree scholarships will empower veterans and military-connected family members to learn the skills they need to launch careers in an array of subjects from cloud computing and data science to front-end web development and digital marketing. Udacity’s Nanodegree programs feature real-world projects from industry experts with 1-on-1 technical mentorship, personal career coaching and services, and flexible, online learning options. Nanodegree program completion can take as little as 4 months, and graduates earn an industry-recognized credentials.
VetsinTech, an organization dedicated to helping veterans transition to the civilian tech workforce and connect to new technology, will receive 50 scholarships for allocation. And because we recognize the families of service members also serve, 50 scholarships will also be provided to The Military Child Education Coalition, an organization that advocates and works to ensure military-connected children are workforce and life-ready through programs, services and resources.

The scholarships are an extension of AT&T’s commitment to hire 20,000 veterans and their family members by the end of 2020. Through 2018, we’ve hired 17,500 toward that goal. As we look beyond 2020, we remain committed to supporting our nation’s heroes, and will continue pursuing programs and efforts to support veterans and their families.
