AT&T and Cisco introduced Webex Go for users of Webex Calling with AT&T. The new solution enables businesses and their employees to connect their Webex Calling with AT&T number to select mobile devices on the AT&T cellular network, providing hybrid and remote workers even more flexibility regardless of what they’re calling the ‘office’ that day. Webex Go will be available for users of Webex Calling with AT&T later this year.
Why is this important?
Enabling a seamless working environment from anywhere is no longer a luxury but a must-have for many businesses who want to stay competitive. According to a recent AT&T and Dubber study of executives and senior leaders, hybrid working models might be here to stay. 81% of respondents believe a majority of work will be done away from the office by 2024.
The engine of business depends on employees’ ability to effectively communicate with customers, partners and each other. Webex Go enables a mobile-first approach for users of Webex Calling with AT&T by centralizing their collaboration capabilities on a single device, enabling workers to perform their tasks without juggling two phones and even remain productive without a computer.
When users connect their Webex Calling with AT&T number to a mobile device using Webex Go, it allows the user to use their native dialing app to make calls. That means not having to use a special dialing app just to make a call from their business line. Doing this also optimizes voice quality by routing those calls through the AT&T network, including the nation’s most reliable 5G network, rather than a data network.
“The secret to a successful hybrid work model is easy in theory, but very difficult in practice—to help your workforce be as productive offsite as they are in the office. Webex Go is another example of tools in our toolbox that can help businesses bridge that gap between the office and ‘anywhere else,’ while providing a level of flexibility that enables them to adapt quickly if the landscape changes,” said, Rosa Maria Boza, vice president, Voice and Collaboration, AT&T Business.
“Work has changed forever. Mobility is at the forefront of this change mixing our work and life together in the palm of our hands. With Webex Go, we have the opportunity to transform how people work and live with their mobile devices. We believe this new experience will better support them in this new world of hybrid work,” commented, Lorrissa Horton, senior vice president and general manager, Webex Calling and Contact Center.
