Aricent, a global design and engineering company, has pre-integrated NB-IoT functionality into its industry-leading LTE software framework. This integration offers a unique advantage to OEM customers – they no longer need to manage multiple vendors to build a complete 4G solution.
As a complete LTE solution comprising eNodeB and Evolved Packet Core (EPC), the LTE software framework delivers a one-stop solution that’s pre-integrated for L1, L2, and L3 for 4G customers providing significant time-to-market and cost advantages.
The LTE eNodeB framework package, now offers advanced features including NB-IoT, eMTC, LWA, LAA, eMBMS and more. The solution is available on industry-leading platform where it is pre-integrated with Layer1 PHY software. Aricent also offers enhancements, maintenance and customization services for the complete 4G software framework.
“NB-IoT is our key thrust area in China and we are excited to work with Aricent on this project as the technology continues to evolve. Aricent’s pre-integrated solution for NB-IoT with end-to-end services and holistic support helps us work on the complete solution with a single partner,” said Liang Jianhua, President of Guangdong Super Telecom Co. Ltd.
“Our framework is the first of its kind in the industry, and we are proud to support forward-looking OEMs that want to leapfrog their competition. Aricent has been investing in mobile wireless technologies including 4G and 5G and we will continue to offer pre-integrated and differentiated frameworks and packages to our customers, reducing their time-to-market and total cost of ownership,” said Dietmar Wendt, President, Communications business unit at Aricent. “Our approach is to invest aggressively in R&D, stay ahead of the technology curve and provide the latest value-added software frameworks for our customers. Aricent’s licensed software is cost-effective and the integrated hardware is designed to meet the insatiable appetite for bandwidth,” he added.
In addition to the LTE software framework, the company has also introduced a portfolio of 5G software frameworks where Aricent has key design wins and has a strong ecosystem for 5G Layer1. Aricent’s wireless portfolio also includes a MANO/VNFM solution for managing various VNFs in an NFV environment. Aricent is demonstrating its 5G capabilities at MWC 2018 in Barcelona.
