Airtel has taken top spot on Netflix India's ISP speed test readings for the month of January 2017.
As per the Netflix ISP Speed Index for India, Airtel is the fastest ISP in the country with 2.37 Mbps followed by Spectranet and 7 Star Digital with 2.10 Mbps and 2.06 Mbps speeds respectively. This particular reading is given for the month of January 2017.
The Netflix ISP Index calculates prime time Netflix performance on some global ISPs, however it is not a measure of overall performance of other internet services and data across that network.
This Index takes into account fiber, cable, DSL, satellite and wireless internet including Airtel, Spectranet, 7 Star Digital, Reliance Communications, Tata Communications, BSNL, MTNL, Hathway, YOU Broadband, Tikona, ACT Broadband, Syscon Info and D-VoiS.
In may be recalled that in the month of September 2016, Spectranet had topped the list with 2.17 Mbps, indicating overall speed of the leading ISP has increased marginally.
It is important to note that according to this Netflix ISP Index for January 2017, five ISPs have recorded a speed of over 2 Mbps in the last 2 months, including Airtel, Spectranet, 7 Star Digital, You Broadband and ATRIA Convergence Technologies.
