When it comes to delivering 4G network speeds to end customers in India – Bharti Airtel has once again beaten Reliance Jio.
As per the data given out by OpenSignal.com – it is Airtel network which is delivering maximum speeds in India’s metro locations.
This comes close on the heels of similar announcements made by Ookla Speedtest and TRAI as well where Airtel has come out as clear winner.

Recent speed test reports by Ookla and TRAI have confirmed that Bharti Airtel is the fastest LTE network in all the metro locations of the country, such as New Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru and Mumbai.
On the other hand, it is Reliance Jio that leads the 4G pack in a few regions such as Shimla and Lucknow where its average speeds are better than Airtel.
However, it is noteworthy to mention that these numbers are LTE speeds and the results will vary if one considers the speeds on 2G/3G platforms.
Data speeds become extremely critical when it comes to 4G – LTE as it is data download and upload speed which dictates delivery of right user experience and hence decides the market share winner as well.
As Indian telecom operators continue to offer lucrative customer friendly packages, most likely - it will boil down to delivering the right 4G speed, to catch most eyeballs and customer delight in this market – and Airtel seems be clearly surpassing its closest competition today.
