Singtel’s International Digital Services and the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) have launched the Singtel Stack-EZ AI Data Enablement Programme, a two-year initiative to help small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) organise, structure and make better use of their business data, and become data ready to fully utilise AI tools. Under the programme, the first 10,000 SMEs will receive complimentary access for six months to SPACE, Singtel’s new AI-powered document management solution, which turns information from everyday business documents into structured, searchable and reusable data.
The Stack-EZ AI Data Enablement Programme is in support of the National AI Impact Programme and the Digital Enterprise Blueprint.
The programme addresses a practical challenge many SMEs face as they begin adopting AI. While businesses may already hold a significant amount of useful information, much of it remains distributed across documents and files in formats that are difficult to search, analyse or apply effectively. By helping businesses organise this information more systematically, Singtel aims to make it easier for SMEs to find, manage and use information across their operations, giving them a stronger data foundation to explore and adopt AI.

Singtel and IMDA will conduct up to four AI capability-building workshops per year over the two-year programme, to help SMEs explore more advanced use cases including how their business data can be used in digital and AI-enabled applications. This initiative is part of the broader efforts by Singtel and IMDA to help SMEs deepen their digital capabilities and improve productivity and competitiveness.
According to the latest Singapore Digital Economy Report[3] released by IMDA, 96.4% of all enterprises in Singapore had adopted at least one out of six digital areas – Cybersecurity, Cloud, e-Payments, e-Commerce, Data Analytics and AI – in 2025, up from 95.1% in 2024. AI adoption among SMEs had also increased from 14.5% in 2024 to 23.4% in 2025 but remained below the 70.4% adoption rate among large local enterprises. As SMEs progress in their AI journeys, IMDA is focused on reducing barriers by helping businesses identify solutions that address specific business needs and build confidence in using the technology.
Johnson Poh, Assistant Chief Executive, Enterprise Transformation and Innovation Group, IMDA, said: “For many SMEs, useful business information sits across documents, emails and shared drives in formats that may not be readily usable for AI. A strong foundation for AI adoption starts with well-organised and structured business information. Through this partnership, the Stack-EZ AI Data Enablement Programme enables SMEs to take a practical step towards AI-readiness by making their business data more accessible and reusable to support their AI adoption journey.”
Derrick Heng, Chief Commercial Officer, International Digital Services (IDS), said: “Many SMEs recognise the potential of AI but may not know where to start. Having a strong data foundation is an important first step. With Stack-EZ and SPACE, we want to make digital and AI capabilities more accessible to SMEs so they can use technology to strengthen their businesses and pursue new opportunities for growth.”
Helping SMEs build the data foundations for easier AI adoption
Important business information is often scattered across invoices, quotations, purchase orders, contracts, receipts, forms and PDFs, requiring employees to manually search for, extract and re-enter information. Singtel’s SPACE automates much of this work by reading and organising documents, extracting key information, and making it searchable. This allows SMEs to retrieve information easily, reduce the manual work involved in managing documents, and prepare their data for wider use with AI.
To make document capture straightforward, documents can be uploaded through a phone, web portal, bulk upload or email forwarding. Business records are backed up and traceable, with security features including encryption for data when it is stored and being transmitted, multi-factor authentication, and malware scanning on upload.
In the upcoming months, SPACE will include the capability to extract and structure data from documents into exportable formats such as CSV and XLSX that are ready for use in solutions such as accounting, Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and Human Resource (HR) systems, providing SMEs with a clear path towards greater AI-readiness.
The complimentary six-month offer allows up to five users from each SME to use SPACE, with 200GB of storage that can hold an estimated 20,000 documents. For SMEs that require additional storage, a higher-tier Professional Plan is also available. After six months, SMEs can continue using SPACE at S$29.90 a month, with no minimum subscription period, and can choose to opt out of the service at any time.
