Verizon Business and Granite Telecommunications, LLC have announced a new arrangement to provide the benefits of Granite’s patented EPIK solution on Verizon’s 4G LTE network.

Using “POTS over LTE,” EPIK provides redundancy, or primary service where wireline solutions are unavailable. Uninterrupted power and built-in central office intelligence lends EPIK to critical applications like alarm lines and disaster relief. Verizon Business will make EPIK available directly to customers, powered by Verizon’s own 4G LTE network.

Granite EPIK works by relying on 4G LTE or an internet connection and a built-in lithium battery that is being constantly recharged by a standard 110V power outlet. On top of providing every-day connectivity, in the event of a power outage, EPIK delivers unmatched failover connectivity.
