Turkcell, ZTE Engage in 1.2 Tb/s Transmission Test on Single Wavelength

ZTE Corporation, a global enabler in integrated information and communications technology solutions, has announced the successful completion of the world's first live test of 1.2 Tb/s single-wavelength transmission using 800GE client interface with Turkcell. This milestone verifies that the OTN equipment is ready for 800GE, the industry's highest client interface rate on a live network.

As a pioneer of European optical network, Turkcell is dedicated to advancing network technology to meet the growing demand of network traffic, especially the booming new services such as cloud, big data and AI.

In this dynamic context, Turkcell and ZTE have collaborated to test ultra-high-speed OTN transmission with 400GE+800GE client card and 1.2Tb/s line card. The equipment can provide 2*400GE and 800GE client interface to meet more flexible scenarios. Compared with 400G solutions, the 1.2T solution provides higher bandwidth and transmission rates, which greatly improves the system capacity. In addition, the solution supports network progression up to 1.6Tb/s.

ZTE has been steadily intensifying its development efforts on the next-generation Tbit OTN solution, committing to providing strong support for the commercial deployment of global operators. This move aims to significantly boost the development of ultra-large-scale digital optical networks.
