TPG Telecom has attained MEF 3.0 Carrier Ethernet Certification on Cisco technology, demonstrating its conformance to rigorous specifications established by MEF, the industry’s defining authority.
MEF certifications offer a method for industry organisations to confirm compliance with MEF 3.0 standards for Ethernet services, and the technologies and APIs used to enable those services, thereby accelerating their product development, sales cycles, and service implementations.
The MEF 3.0 certification provides companies with a definitive way to confirm the quality of their technology, and this will in turn authenticate high-performance service, assurance, and agility.
TPG Telecom’s MetroEthernet network has now achieved MEF 3.0 Carrier Ethernet (CE) Service Certification for 10/100G access to E-Line, E-LAN, E-Tree, E-Access and E-Transit services on Cisco
infrastructure leveraging their leading open standards and multi-vendor automation and orchestration platforms.
Marco Chan, TPG Telecom Head of Fixed Enterprise Networks, said: “Gaining MEF 3.0 certification across our MetroEthernet network services on Cisco infrastructure confirms TPG Telecom as one of
the region’s leading network carriers. Attaining this MEF 3.0 certification also confirms we have a dynamic and trusted Fast Fibre product available to Wholesale, Enterprise and Government customers with a performance that is meeting the high-quality industry standard.”
“We would like to congratulate TPG Telecom for achieving MEF 3.0 certification and demonstrating their commitment to delivering innovative solutions with compelling value for customers,” said Nan
Chen, President, MEF. “MEF 3.0 certified services and technologies are proven to conform to MEF’s meticulous specifications for performance, assurance, and agility. It’s impressive that TPG Telecom has achieved this milestone and certified its entire 100G Carrier Ethernet product portfolio.”
Karen Negus, Managing Director, Australia and New Zealand service provider organisation, Cisco said: “The collaboration between the TPG Telecom enterprise engineering and Cisco technical teams was a key success factor in the MEF 3.0 certification. Cisco’s global technical leadership combined with TPG Telecom’s drive and expertise to offer industry leading capabilities helped to achieve this great outcome. Cisco’s Model driven Automation platform (NSO) optimises network performance, as specified by MEF 3.0, and as part of this certification. The technology will enable augmented model driven network telemetry and closed loop automation to pre-empt possible network disruptions – ensuring service continuity for customers.”
Jeremy Howe, TPG Telecom General Manager, Commercial, said: “At TPG Telecom, we pride ourselves on delivering fast, reliable network-centric solutions to our Enterprise, Government and
Wholesale customers. Achieving MEF 3.0 certification is a critical proof point that we set the highest standards of product quality when it comes to delivering our Fast Fibre solutions, and fantastic news for our customers as they embark on their own digital transformation.”
