Telefónica Tech, Telefónica’s digital business unit, and NSFOCUS, a global benchmark in cybersecurity solutions, announce a partnership to offer a package of services with high capacity mitigation against Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks for small and medium Internet providers in Brazil.

According to the ‘Global DDoS Landscape Report 2023’, developed by NSFOCUS, the number of DDoS attacks is growing every year. In 2023, it was 1.4 times higher than in 2022 and twice as high as in 2021. Offensives peaked in the first half of the year, with almost five million events monitored in March alone, most of them targeting Brazil.

The service package offers clean and mitigated traffic starting at 50 Mbps, ensuring business continuity even under intense denial-of-service attacks. In addition, it has a scalable solution capable of supporting offensives of unlimited size, providing a robust defence against numerous cyber threats.

Alejandro Ramos, Telefónica Tech’s country manager for Brazil, highlights that the partnership aims to address a crucial demand in the Brazilian market. “By joining forces, we are committed to democratising access to protection against DDoS attacks for a vital segment such as internet providers, which plays an essential role in the provision of the internet, especially for people and businesses located in areas further away from major centers”, he adds.

Raphael Tedesco, NSFOCUS alliance manager for Latin America, says: “Our goal is to protect precisely this type of segment, which is located in the interior of Brazil and does not have large budgets to invest in security, but has a sensitive operation and needs competitive solutions”.
