Orange, Ekinops achieve 800 Gbit/s optical transmission over nearly 800 km network
EKINOPS, a provider of telecommunications and cybersecurity solutions for telecom operators and enterprises, has announced the completion of an 800 Gbit/s (gigabits per second) optical transmission over 757 kilometers under real-world conditions on Orange's long-distance network.
Orange offers satellite SMS service using ‘Direct to Device’ tech
During the Orange OpenTech event in Paris, Orange announced the launch of 'Message Satellite', a service that allows its customers based in mainland France to send and receive SMS messages as well as their geolocation via satellite when mobile or Wi-Fi coverage is unavailable. The service is currently available for use in France and 36 countries to date.
