SaskTel Set to Turn Off 3G Network in October 2027
SaskTel has announced that it will be turning down its 3G wireless network on October 1, 2027. After this date, 3G wireless devices will no longer function on SaskTel’s network. Additionally, wireless devices that are not Voice over LTE (VoLTE) compatible will lose access to voice services.
3G voice usage down 70%, with Spark’s 3G shutting down in 9 weeks
Spark customers are getting ready for the telco’s nationwide 3G shutdown on 31 March 2026, with 3G voice usage declining 70% since Spark announced its shutdown date in June last year.
