Ericsson, Spiideo, and distribution partner Westbase.io are enabling teams and federations to capture live sports video from locations without fixed connectivity. Spiideo has integrated Ericsson’s Cradlepoint S700 Series router into its Portable SmartCam, giving users a portable unit that streams high-quality video to the cloud over the cellular network.
The Portable SmartCam is Spiideo’s fully automated, mobile camera system designed for environments where permanent infrastructure is not in place. It tracks the action automatically and streams footage directly to the cloud, allowing organizers, teams, and coaches to record and analyze matches without manual camera operation. Because the camera is often used on pitches or training grounds with no wired connection, reliable mobile connectivity becomes essential for delivering real-time video, uninterrupted broadcast quality, and instant access for remote viewers or analysts.
By adding the Cradlepoint S700 router, Spiideo can extend the experience of its fixed solutions to more locations, giving users the same simplicity: mount the camera, power it on, and begin streaming. Spiideo’s support teams also use Cradlepoint NetCloud Manager to monitor device health, adjust configurations, and resolve connectivity issues remotely, helping maintain consistent performance for users anywhere the SmartCam is deployed.
