Singtel commemorates Singapore’s 59th year of independence with the launch of SIM-only no-contract mobile plans to cater to the evolving digital and travel lifestyles of customers, as well as a slew of deals across mobile, TV and broadband services to reward loyal subscribers. It also released a heart-warming film, capturing the quintessential Singaporean kampong spirit.
A study conducted by Singtel in late 2023 to better understand customers’ priorities when choosing mobile plans, found that customers preferred more flexible payment options and plans that included value-added services like roaming.
The study also revealed that customers were willing to pay a premium for stronger, reliable connectivity to support their digital consumption habits and would like added security in light of the increasing prevalence of digital fraud and scams. These factors led to the creation of the no-contract SIM-only plans, which include roaming and mobile security services.
“Providing good service and better value for our customers is always a top priority for Singtel. These ongoing studies and engagements at various customer touchpoints provide invaluable insights that help us understand their evolving behaviours and lifestyle requirements which strongly influence how we design our products and services. With the new 5G no-contract SIM-only plans, our customers have greater flexibility to choose the plans that meet their digital lifestyle needs and can confidently enjoy using their favourite apps, even when they travel, knowing that they are protected by Singtel’s added defence measures,” said Anna Yip, Deputy CEO, Singtel Singapore and CEO, Business Development.
Giving customers more value and flexibility
The new 5G plans, categorised as “Core”, “Plus” and “Ultra”, provide high-speed connectivity, low latency and high bandwidth to support the rising number of customers who are streaming videos in ultra-high definition and gaming on the go. In a first in Singapore, the plans come with value-added services such as international roaming, mobile security, and a subscription to Disney+ Premium that supports 4K UHD and HDR video playback on supported titles. Subscribers will also receive a monthly cashback of up to $20 when they purchase a phone paid via Singtel PayLater, in addition to these SIM-only plans.
The high-value plans also come with free data roaming of up to 6GB so customers will have seamless connectivity across 18 destinations, including popular holiday spots like Australia, Japan, and South Korea.
Singtel is also offering a range of National Day deals across its suite of products and services from 27 July to 18 August 2024 including:

Singtel celebrates friendship and National Day spirit
Singtel’s second National Day film, “LIFT” is set in a public housing lift, a familiar sight to most Singaporeans. It features two strangers who find themselves in an unfortunate situation and showcases the infamous Singaporean kampong spirit which comes through when a fellow neighbour needs help.
